Dr. Rebecca Shamis is one of the co-founders of Midtown Dental Group, where her commitment to patient education and well-being has been central to the practice’s success. Originally from Long Beach, New York, Dr. Shamis earned her undergraduate degree from Tulane University before pursuing her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina. She further honed her skills during a rigorous General Practice Residency at North Shore-LIJ Hospital, where she developed a deep understanding of comprehensive patient care.
Though Dr. Shamis has transitioned from clinical dentistry to focus on operations, her extensive clinical experience continues to influence the quality and efficiency of care at Midtown Dental Group. She plays a key role in ensuring that the practice provides top-tier, evidence-based dental care, all while integrating state-of-the-art technology to enhance the overall patient experience. Her leadership is defined by a focus on creating a supportive environment where both patients and team members feel welcome and at home.
Outside of her executive role, Dr. Shamis is a certified yoga instructor and enjoys outdoor activities like rock climbing, surfing, and biking. She’s also an avid reader who loves browsing bookstores and exploring new ideas. These interests help her bring a balanced, thoughtful approach to her leadership at Midtown Dental Group, where she is committed to creating a positive, supportive environment for both patients and staff.
